OPERATING PLANS (One Year)

Every organization needs a one-year operating plan.

Each staff person should create annual objectives for their work which summarize their expected achievements for the year.

Your board needs to establish their top priorities for the year.  This includes governance decisions they will recommend to the board and the organizational support they will provide.

Each board committee needs an Annual Action Plan so that their energies are focused on contributions to support or strengthen the organization.

STRATEGIC PLAN

Both board and staff personnel should understand the Strategic View – where will the organization be in 3 to 5 years.

Depending on the size and scope of your organization, the development of a longer-term Strategic Plan may be helpful.
